Biography
Xiaoxiao Du is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan. She received a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 2017. There she worked on hyperspectral unmixing, seabed context identification and target detection, and sensor/classifier fusion given imprecisely labeled training data. She is currently working in the UM Ford Center for Autonomous Vehicles (FCAV)[https://fcav.engin.umich.edu/], where she researches novel machine learning and computer vision methods for pedestrian perception and scene understanding with applications in robotics and autonomous systems.
