Regents approve $4.1M for updates to the NAME building

The Board of Regents has officially given the green light to a $4.1 million renovation project aimed at transforming approximately 8,400 gross square feet of classrooms, offices, restrooms, the Marine Design Computer Lab, and refreshing the two building interior entries. Constructed in 1962, the building is in need of both deferred maintenance renovations as well as cosmetic changes.

This project encompasses architectural, electrical, and mechanical upgrades necessary to bring the facilities into the 21st century. The estimated cost of the project is set at $4.1 million, with funding provided by College of Engineering resources.

The architectural design will be spearheaded by the renowned firm, Integrated Design Solutions, known for its innovative and sustainable approaches. Construction is scheduled to commence and is expected to be completed in the winter of 2025.
