The University of Michigan’s Advanced Naval Concepts Research Laboratory recently represented the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the 2025 High Performance Marine Vehicles (HIPER) conference in Tullamore, Ireland. Matthew Dowling delivered a noteworthy presentation on their paper, “Exploring Data-Driven RUL Methods for Marine Systems Using a Lab-Scale Ship Machinery Plant,” with teammates Alex Manohar, Connor Arrigan, Chris De Martinis, and Joe Serpa—supported by Professor David Singer. Post-conference, Connor, Chris, and Joe visited the University of Southampton, exploring engineering facilities and engaging in promising discussions about potential collaboration opportunities, further enhancing our academic and research endeavors. Stay tuned for more updates as our department continues to make strides in advancing the maritime industry. Go Blue!
