Fluid Mechanics I – ME320 (Winter 2023)

Research Interests

Experimental Hydrodynamics with an emphasis on renewable energy harvesting and energy-efficient marine propulsion systems.

Biography

Dr. Anchal Sareen is an incoming Assistant Professor (starting January 2023) in the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sareen was previously a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Dept. of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota. She obtained her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Monash University, Clayton, Australia, and Masters in Fluid Mechanics from École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France. Dr. Sareen’s research group will focus on devising novel methods of renewable energy harvesting and energy-efficient propulsion systems. In addition, the group will focus on developing active and passive flow control strategies for enhanced hydrodynamic performance.
